Warranty on refurbished devices purchased from Likewize

Definitions

We or Us means Likewize Olive Services Pty Ltd.

You means the person or entity whom purchases refurbishes devices from Us.

Unlocked means all locks and activation codes (including the “Find My” feature and other similar features, pin and pattern locks and account administrator locks related to device enrolment programs and mobile device management features) are turned off from any refurbished devices.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. This excludes faults caused by the way the device is treated and/or used.

Limited Warranty

Where You purchase a refurbished device from Us, We will provide You with a limited warranty on the purchase.

What is included in the warranty?

We warrant the purchase against defects in materials and workmanship, when used in accordance with the manufacturer’s general operating instructions, for:

  • twelve (12) months from the date of your purchase.

What is not included in the warranty?

Subject to relevant law, this warranty does not extend to:

  • damage caused to the device by accident, abuse, earthquake, fire, liquid contact, misuse, or other external cause or event.
  • Water Damage, as water resistance may not be maintained due to the nature of the refurbishment process.
  • damage caused by You or a third party that has not been directly engaged by Us repairing, servicing, or otherwise opening / tampering with the device.
  • the device has been repaired or modified in any way after We deliver it to You.
  • defects caused by normal wear and tear or ageing of the device.
  • any operating system software on a device, which has been tampered with.
  • the packaging, Accessories and additional hardware supplied (if any) with Your device.
  • consumable parts of the device such as screen guards or protective coatings that are designed to diminish over time.
  • cosmetic damage to the device such as scratches, dents and broken plastic.
  • damage that is caused to the device by use of Accessories or additional hardware.
  • a device in respect of which the IMEI or other Serial Numbers have been defaced or removed.
  • a device which is modified to allow the installation of unauthorized software (sometimes called jail broken) or device that cannot be verified as the device You received from Us.

We exclude all warranties and conditions which are not set out in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), or expressly provided to You in this warranty or otherwise in this document.

Conditions of the warranty

To be entitled to claim under the warranty, the following conditions must be met:

  • you can only make claims under this warranty for devices that you have purchased from Us, meaning that the IMEI or Serial Number of the device must be the same as the IMEI or Serial Number of the device You received from Us; and
  • the returned device must be returned in good physical condition (not physically broken or damaged, unless and except to the extent that the damage is caused by a defect in materials or workmanship the subject of the warranty claim).

What We will do if Your device is faulty or defective

Where You have satisfied the conditions that entitle You to make a claim in respect of:

  • Your device is under the warranty, you will be eligible for another replacement device or a full refund, at your election.

What You must do to be entitled to claim the warranty

Any claim must be submitted to our support team, following the processes outlined below.

To make a claim under the warranty, you must, when You discover the fault or defect in workmanship or materials with Your device:

  • contact the Likewize amaysim devices support team by phone on 1800 716 599 or by e-mail at amaysim_refurbishedsupport@likewize.com to request a Return Authorisation (RA);
  • supply the device IMEI or Serial Number of device. You can retrieve the IMEI of Your device by dialing *#06# on Your device. Alternatively, it will be displayed on the packaging the device was delivered in.
  • remove all Accessories on Your device (for example, covers, cases and screen guards);
  • perform a factory reset of Your device; and
  • remove any data, software, games or applications from Your device, including making sure it is Unlocked. If it is not Unlocked, the team will not be able to validate Your device and process Your claim under the warranty. In this case the device will be returned to You at Your cost, unless agreed otherwise.

Our support team will issue to You a RA based on the information in Your request.

  • You will be sent an pre-paid return kit to the Your registered email address and instructions on how to return Your device; You will then have 14 days to return the device Unlocked for assessment unless otherwise agreed (such agreement not to be unreasonably withheld); and
  • if You do not return the device within the above period, or as soon as reasonably possible after being asked by Us, return it Unlocked (or enable Us to Unlock it), We may cancel the warranty claim:
    • Where the above does not apply and the device You return to Us is not the device you purchased from us the subject of the warranty claim, We will tell You this and cancel the warranty claim. If You want the device returned to You, We will charge You the reasonable costs for Us to arrange for this or make other reasonable arrangements for You to collect the device at Your expense.

Your responsibilities when making a claim under the warranty

You should regularly backup Your device to avoid losing the information stored on it in the event of a defect. You will need to backup any information that You have stored on Your device and would like to keep before making a claim under the warranty. If Your claim is accepted by Us, unless You request otherwise within 14 days of our acceptance and agree to pay Our reasonable costs of returning the device to You or meet such other reasonable conditions of return as we may require, then whether or not You have removed all data or performed a factory reset of Your device, Your device will be data wiped and will not be returned to You.

If your device is deemed to be damaged on arrival or failed within a month of purchase when used in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, please contact our support team to discuss your eligibility for limited warranty by phone on 1800 716 599or by e-mail at amaysim_refurbishedsupport@likewize.com.

Change of Mind

If, within 14 days after receiving the Products, you have changed your mind and wish to return the Product, you can do so and receive a refund in full. Likewize will not be liable for returning to you any other items that are shipped along with the returned Products.

Unless otherwise stated above, all items being returned for change of mind must be returned in the same condition in which you received the item. This means that for change of mind returns:

  • Items must not have any additional signs of use or damage.
  • Device should be free of any passwords and/or passcodes (including removal of AppleID/Google accounts)
  • All items must not be damaged, missing parts or in unsellable condition because of customer negligence, misuse or tampering.
  • All items must not have been resized, damaged or otherwise altered after delivery.
  • All packaging and documentation (, etc.) must be included with the item being returned for a change of mind.

Likewize shall provide 12-month warranty from date of purchase if any of the below functional tests result in a failure:

10 Battery Charging Connects a charging cable to verify proper battery charging.
11 LCD Color Examines the color representation on the display.
12 Touch Verifies the touch input functionality on the screen.
13 Accelerometer Checks if the accelerometer is functioning for screen rotation and gaming.
14 Compass Tests the accuracy of the compass sensor for precise direction display.
15 USB Ensures the USB port is operational for charging and data transfer.
16 Home Key Checks the physical and touch functions of the home key.
17 Screen Lock Key Verifies the functionality of the screen lock key.
18 Recent/Menu Key Tests the functionality of the recent/menu key.
19 Barometer Checks the barometer sensor for altitude and weather information.
20 Camera (Assisted) Tests the functionality of an assisted camera.
21 Fingerprint Verifies the accuracy of the fingerprint sensor for security purposes.
22 Front Video (Assisted) Checks the front camera's video functionality with assistance.
23 NFC (Near Field Communication) Ensures that NFC functionality is operational for payments and data transfer.
24 Gyroscope Tests the gyroscope sensor for screen rotation and gaming.
25 Auto Rotation Checks if the screen's auto-rotation feature is operational.
26 Native Back Camera Tests the functionality of the manufacturer-provided rear camera.
27 Wi-Fi Checks wireless network connectivity for internet usage.
28 Microphone Verifies the functionality of the built-in microphone.
29 Speaker Microphone Tests the speaker and microphone during a call.
30 Receiver Checks if the receiver is correctly receiving the voice during a call.
31 Headset Microphone Tests the functionality of the microphone when a headset is connected.
32 Front Camera Verifies the proper functioning of the front-facing camera for selfie capture.
33 Front Camera 1 Regular Checks the regular photo capture functionality of the front-facing camera.
34 Video Ensures that the video recording feature is working properly.
35 Camera Flash Tests the flash functionality of the rear camera.
36 Temperature Checks the temperature sensor's accuracy for displaying device temperature.
37 Screen Examines the overall functionality of the display for any defects.
